Certificate of Recognition

On July 9, 2020, Friends of Taylorsville Lake State Park (FTLSP) was presented with a Certificate of Recognition “for extraordinary service and commitment in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, which compelled a nomination for the 25th Annual Governor’s Service Awards.”
The Certificate was signed by Governor Andy Beshear, DeAnna Brangers (Commission Chair, Serve Kentucky), and Eric Friedlander (Acting Secretary, Cabinet for Health and Family Services).
We appreciate the recognition as we continue to improve, enhance and support the Park. An agreement with the Corps of Engineers is also in the works, which will allow FTLSP to give further support to all areas of the Park and Lake.
Exciting activities and projects are coming up and we’re looking for more members and project leads. Please contact us for information.

15 more trees planted!
Thank you LG&E and KU and volunteers!
On April 27, 2019, another 15 native trees were planting at Taylorsville Lake State Park's campgrounds, with a generous grant from LG&E and KU's Plant for the Planet Tree Project. We couldn't have done it without the terrific support of Girl Scout Troop #1199 and Spencer County High School's football team!!
Each tree was carefully planted and mulched then a gator bag was attached for watering as needed. These 15 trees and last year's 11 trees are being monitored by Park staff and FTLSP board members. |

Membership Meeting - November 30, 2017
Great things are happening at Taylorsville Lake State Park! The Membership Meeting was a chance for members and those interested in the Park to hear what has been accomplished, future goals, and a big announcement that will be a huge stepping stone for Park improvements! Besides that, there was door prizes, a chili dinner, REALLY NICE silent auction items, and a lot of great people.
